State of the Arts caught up with the popular, one-of-a-kind, retro, band Pink Martini at their recent Bergen Performing Arts Center appearance. A perennial favorite with the NPR crowd, they had the sold out audience dancing in the aisles. Founder and bandleader Thomas Lauderdale explains how the band got started in Portland, Oregon in 1994. Lead singer China Forbes introduces some of the band’s best known songs.
