Description
Renowned violin virtuoso Stefan Jackiw has a long and warm relationship with conductor Jed Gaylin and the Bay Atlantic Symphony. They first worked together 20 years ago when Stefan was still a freshman at Harvard University and have collaborated 8 times since. This year, the pair tacked Benjamin Britten’s rarely heard Violin Concerto. It was the 25-year old pacifist composer’s reaction to the horrors of the Spanish Civil War and the looming threat of war in Europe in 1938.
The feature was produced and edited by Eric G. Schultz for State of the Arts. Joe Conlon was the Director of Photography and Dan Gordon narrates.
