The Shockenaw Mountain Boys are an acoustic subset of the great New Jersey jam band, Railroad Earth, specializing in high-energy versions of Irish tunes and traditional folk standards. They were recently featured in the Morristown folk music concert series The Minstrel, curated by musician Mike Agranoff.
We sat down with Agranoff, and the band, before the show to talk about music, history, and what it means to be a folk devotee. Then, we rolled on an evening of amazing, beautiful music and all-around good cheer.
