Description

Author Jhumpa Lahiri considers herself linguistically an orphan. Although one of the most honored and widely read fiction writers in America today, she has now turned to writing in Italian. Her recent book of essays about the process of learning a new language, In Altre Parole, has been published in a bilingual edition as In Other Words by Knopf. It premiered on the New York Times Bestseller list on February 21, 2016. Lahiri appears at a sold-out event sponsored by the Inserra Endowed Chair in Italian and Italian American Studies at Montclair State University, where Professor Teresa Fiore is now using In Other Words as part of her class in the Italian Program.
