Chazz Palminteri’s “A Bronx Tale” was a hit one-man show, written by Palminteri, based on his own life. In 1993, it became an acclaimed movie directed by Robert De Niro. Now, it’s a musical.

“A Bronx Tale: the Musical” premiered at the Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, New Jersey. De Niro returned to co-direct with Broadway veteran Jerry Zaks. We spoke with Chazz Palminteri, Robert De Niro, composer Alan Menken, famous for his Disney hit scores, and actors Nick Cordero, who plays the iconic gangster Sonny, Jason Gotay, and Joshua Colley.
