Description
Janet Taylor Pickett returns to her longtime hometown with “The Matisse Series” at the Montclair Art Museum. She plays on French artist Henri Matisse’s joyful use of color and pattern, as well as his African inspiration. Curator and gallery owner Kathy Imlay joins Janet, and they show how the artist uses the dress shape as a central metaphor in her work. “Janet Taylor Pickett: The Matisse Series,” Montclair Art Museum, September 10, 2016 – June 18, 2017.
