Meet Newark, NJ artist German Pitre during his six-month artist-in-residency at Express Newark. His path to becoming an artist was extraordinary. A retrospective of his unique art works, rich in sometimes controversial iconography, is featured in the exhibition A Glorious Life. It’s an ironic title. The show is at the Paul Robeson Gallery on the campus of Rutgers University, Newark. Express Newark is a co-laboratory for artists with Rutgers University and the Newark, NJ community.
