10 Hairy Legs is a repertory modern dance company – meaning it performs dances by many different choreographers. This story features works from many of these choreographers, with footage courtesy of Nel Shelby Productions. The artistic director is Randy James, a three-time winner of a New Jersey State Council on the Arts Choreography Fellowship and a professor of dance at the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers. He formed 10 Hairy Legs to show the full scope of what male dancers can do. Dance critic Robert Johnson weighs in with what makes Randy James and 10 Hairy Legs unique.
