Description

“Coastal Impressions: Painters of the Jersey Shore, 1880-1940” is an exhibition at Morven Museum & Garden in Princeton, and the subject of a new book by Roy Pedersen. Artists such as Edward Boulton, Albert Reinhart, Charles Freeman, Carrie Sanborn, and the mother and daughter painters Ida Wells Stroud and Clara Stroud are being rediscovered today. Their paintings of the Manasquan River, Point Pleasant Beach, Toms River, and other locations along the Jersey Shore are becoming more highly valued, both for their artistry and their visions of a day gone by.

Produced by Susan Wallner.
